It’s been a long 3 months for most of us, but the light is at the end of the tunnel! Auckland should move to RED when the new Traffic Light System kicks into place for all New Zealand at 11:59pm on Thursday 2nd December 2021. This means that from 8am Friday 3rd December 2021, you will be able to enter and play badminton at Active Badminton Centre provided you are FULLY VACCINATED, except for children under 12.
(This is a government requirement for all indoor recreational activity)
With this in mind, we would like to welcome all clubs back IF YOU AGREE to vet and monitor your own members (including visitors) on your club nights. I know this may be a big ask, but because of our staffing, we need your help so that you and your members can start playing the game you love under the current rules.
Things you must do are:
- Ensure ALL club players and visitors are FULLY VACCINATED. This means that they must possess a valid NZ My Vaccine Passeither in paper or digital form (overseas passes/certificates are NOT acceptable). Visual checking of the Vaccine Pass is sufficient. It is not necessary to scan. If needed, match Vaccine Pass with valid i.d.
- Ensure All players provide contact tracingrecords either by scanning QR Code or enter details manually. A club register of the players and visitors for the day should also be kept and produced if required.
- Ensure Masksare worn on entering, moving around, leaving the centre and while not playing.
- Ensure Social distancingof 1 metre is observed.
If any of your members or visitors fail to meet any of the conditions above, you should ask them to leave the centre.
NOTE: The requirement for our facility to be open to the “vaccinated” only (90+%), is to protect the “unvaccinated” (-10%)! Unvaccinated people can get very sick. Vaccinated people can also get Covid because NZ is no longer Covid free, but hopefully you won’t get as sick. However, children under 12 are exempted. We would therefore like to caution clubs who cater for these children to exercise extra care with regards to hygiene, social distancing and masks if they allow children under 12 to come to club activities.
Active Badminton Centre Management can conduct random checks to ensure that compliance is met. Any club found in breach may have their court bookings suspended until such time Management believes they can conduct their club safely as required.
We will also be closing all showers and the drinking fountain during RED light. The vending machines will be working and tap water is available at the kitchen in the lobby.
We also request that you please remove all used shuttles when play is finished.
Our hours will be reduced from 8am to 10pm under this level until further notice
If you think you want to start playing and agree to the above, please contact Ross on 022-089-2485 or BNH, to make your bookings.
Regards, Active Badminton Centre Management
