North Harbour’s Wisden Cup team has won the Regional Sports Team of the Year award at the Harbour Sport Annual Awards evening. This is the second time in as many years for this high achieving team.
Also on the receving end was Chris Benzie who was nominated for a Hands Up award, which is a financial assistance grant for up and coming athletes. He was one of three selected, and received $1000.00 toward his ongoing badminton career.
Badminton North Harbour also put forward Stephen Bowden as a recipient for a Sports recognition award for his contribution to Badminton North Harbour.
Harbour Sports Awards are highly contested as many strong International athletes across many codes are up for recognition such as Dame Lisa Carrington who won Sportswoman of the Year, so for us to win this prestigous award is a great achievement.
